RJ-11 & RJ-14 Phone Cords
Tech Tent offers two types of telephone cords. We stock RJ-11 and RJ-14 cables. Both RJ-11 and RJ-14 phone cords have the same sized connections, but have a different number of conductors or wires within the cable. RJ-14 cords have a four-contact 6P4C plug, while RJ-11 telephone cords have two contacts wired to a 6P2C plug. Both versions have 6 pin connectors and therefore will fit the same jacks. RJ-11 is typically used for a single phone line and RJ-14 is commonly used for two lines.
RJ11, RJ14, and RJ25 all use the same six-position modular connector, thus are physically identical except for the different number of contacts (two, four and six respectively) allowing connections for 1, 2 or 3 phone lines respectively.
